Woo! Last.fm submitting works for me again! Thanks for the update!

Tamon Yanagimoto said...

cannot get it to work with Win7 RTM ... anyone else have issues?

Anonymous said...

I'm having the same problem as TY. 0.7.0.6 closes itself as soon as I launch it. 0.7.0.2 works just fine though.

Ian said...

Nope, looks like the Last.fm submission still isn't working for me.

Ian said...

Interestingly, I don't seem to be able to manually send songs to last.fm either.

I remember that I used to see my last.fm user-image in the picture box next to the login form in the settings page but I no longer see that. If I didn't know better, I'd say that the application isn't able to login to last.fm but I know that I've provided the correct authentication information - I've reentered it several times.

i have problems with windows 7 also, works great with vista but not 7

Works on Win 7 for me, but the G15 multimedia keys only work half the time.

WooHoo!!! Just discovered this app and I have to say, I love it.

I love the multimedia keyboard functionality. Don't have a G15 but I can use my pause/play button and skip track button on my Dell Multimedia keyboard!!!

I love this app. Sent you a paypal donation just to say thanks. Keep up the good work.

I just found this program, and I love it. However, I've found that the song artist and title aren't updating (either in the program titlebar or in the G15 keyboard display) and it doesn't appear that Last.FM submission is working, either. When I enter my Last.FM login info, the box to the right stays blank, and no songs are being sent to Last.FM. Thanks!

I take it back, I restarted OpenPandora and everything appears to be working.

Any chance to have some of this marvel working for the Squeezebox Boom from Logitech. I miss the music outside the US.

Jason said...

I am running Win 7 RC 7100 and everything works fine for me, except it always starts up on Windows restart and during installation I selection the option not to. I also checked the start-up msconfig and OpenPandora did not appear.

Other wise it works great with Win 7 and my G15 keyboard!!

Thanks for the great program!

Jason, it's starting up when Windows boots because your G15 is launching it. If you tell it to not automatically start in the Game Panel manager, it won't anymore.

No Problems with Win7 Ultimate (OEM)

Dylan said...

For some reason, OpenPandora crashes immediately upon opening in Win7 64-bit and Win7 32-bit.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

if you have problem with windows 7, use previous beta5: http://openpandora.googlecode.com/files/OpenPandora_0.7.0.5.zip

Gir said...

Thank you eitan for the link! Looked everywhere for that link...

Amazing program. Simply amazing.

okay so i installed tor and openpandora and followed the tutorial to set it up properly. i have windows 7 and downloaded openpandora 7.0.5 but a message pops up saying that only users inside the u.s are allowed access. when i visit the actual pandora website, it either says i'm in denmark or ukraine? how do i change this?

Rick said...

Thank you very much for this app, is wonderful, but it doesn't scrobble the songs to Last.fm, which is the main reason why i would use it. Also for my when i hit apply, after writing my Last.fm username and password, my profile photo doesn't show up. I think the problem is you have to let OpenPandora access your Last.fm profile, as all the other applications which scrobble songs, like for example Blipster for blip.fm or Groovewalrus for grooveshark.com.

Anonymous said...

Perfect! Thanks for the link, 0.7.0 downloaded and installed just fine, but didn't run. This version seems to work fine!

Ken said...

Strange, the hot keys for "pause" "skip" "I don't like it" "I like it" don't work, neither do the menu options of these links. I have to use the full window view for this. I use Windows 7 x64. I also wonder if this project is still in development. There haven't been any updates in a while.

Unknown said...

yeah, hotkeys all broke recently for me as well

Unknown said...

Pause/Play and Skip don't work on my G15 but the song does display so that's cool

Jason said...

is there anyway to mark a song from openpandora so that its 'loved' on last.fm
Right now all the songs that play on openpandora show up as what i'm listening to on last.fm.
But I'd like to be able to mark as 'loved' also.

thanks,jb

How can I stop it from opening on startup?

Haggieg said...

To anyone having issues with this in win 7. you have to install micorsoft .net 1.1

Also i have noticed that because of either a flash update or pandora update that global hot keys NO LONGER work. stopped working on bot my win 7 rig, and and xp rig. Any info on this???

Anonymous said...

I can confirm the global hotkeys no longer work. I'm using Win7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have .net 1.1 (also 2.0 3.0 and 3.5). Controlling pandora from the system tray menu also does not work.

Alan said...

No longer working from task bar icon. Pause stop and the like do not function. Need to open app to normal size and use buttons direct. Probably a change on Pandora side to stop us from using this tool and upgrade to their desktop player.

Ph0t0n said...

sweet app! the g15 keyboard has a problem though - the buttons don't work (like/hate/pause/play/volume). whenever i press pause/play/volume it pauses/plays windows media player instead. maybe WMP is fighting it?

WMP: 12.0.7600.16415
OpenPandora: 0.7.0.6
Win7 ultimate x64 & all updates
Logitech LCD Manager: 3.03.133

if anyone can get this working i'll send a donation on through to openpandora!

I have tried all versions from 7.0.0 to 7.0.6 and I can only get the global shortcuts to work when the window is active. Multimedia keys and taskbar context items do not work at all for any version. I am using Windows 7 x86. Any thoughts?

Anonymous said...

I made an autohotkey script as a workaround for the play/pause key not working...

-------
DetectHiddenWindows, On

Media_Play_Pause::
IfWinExist ahk_class WindowsForms10.Window.20008.app2
ControlSend, Internet Explorer_Server1,{Media_Play_Pause}
return
--------

Phil H said...

I'd love to see the media keys (all except backwards track, obviously) working for this on the g15. I'm a programmer with a g15, and although I havent developed for the keyboard before, I'd be happy to help try and get this functionality going. How can I help?

Anonymous said...

Things for the great program.

One problem I run into is that the window is sometimes too small to see all the info. For example, if I hit my 40 hour limit and want to pay $0.99 for the rest of the month, the bottom part of the card info is off the screen. So I have to hop over to my browser, pay, then close and restart Pandora for the payment status to be seen.

It's not the end of the world, but it would be nice if this could be fixed.

Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Yes, on a similar note to the previous post - it would be great to be able to change the window size as some things are cutoff (such as the sharing menus) Great work, its on all my PCs.

John said...

I'm looking for some online community for further support. I've got a multimedia keyboard but it doesn't work. Is there a forum where the community at large can participate is supporting this application?

PS-My keyboard is a Microsoft wireless laser keyboard 2000 v.2.0 (model #: 1074) and I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium.

PRELIMINARY:
I truly adore OpenPandora. If I was rich, I'd pay your salary for a year!

OS:
Win 7 Enterprise x64

BUG SUMMARY:
Some (not all) right click functions of notification area icon don't work.

BUG DETAILS:
Every single right click menu items works correctly, except for:
a. Pause
b. Skip
c. Like
d. Don't like

TROUBLESHOOTING:
1. Bug is replicated whether the main window is opened or closed.
2. OS currently has .NET 3.5 enabled in Control Panel
3. Other .NET based apps (such as Pain.NET, Visual Studio 2010, etc.) are functioning normally
4. Bug is replicated after changing properties of shortcut to executable for all users:
a. Tried XP sp3 (runas admin)
b. Tried XP sp2 (runas admin)
5. Downloaded and installed .NET 1.1 Redistributable Package from MS directly, and installed it -- despite warning during install that .NET version 1.1 has problems with my version of Windows (Win 7). Bug was still replicated.
6. Bug (and all above attempted resolutions above) were replicated on OpenPandora ver 0.7.0 beta 7 and then on beta 5

TEMPORARY WORKAROUND:
I've downloaded and installed Autohotkey in order to use the suggested script from above (by "Anonymous" on Thursday, 25 March), but am truly hoping for another solution.

Thanks,
Paul

I know this is ages old, but I'm using it right now.
It seems great, and the g15 support is great for me, as I have one!
Although, there are some problems.
Some letters in titles/etc get cut off and look odd, like "h" and "n" and "u".
The like/hate buttons also don't work for me.
And the pause/play button doesn't work for me unless I'm actually highlighted in the OpenPandora window.

However, last.fm is working fine for me.

Also, I'm on win7.

Thanks for the great program, though :D it's great to see support for the g15 keyboard, even though it's very uncommon.

There are no updates for over a year, does this mean you dropped the project? If so, is the source open?

I)estym said...

Yes, the source is open, check it out here:
http://code.google.com/p/openpandora/

I)estym said...

Okay, I downloaded the sourcce and tried to debug it a bit. Turns out, the app crashes because the installer-bundled DLL for G15 support doesn't work under Win7 x64.

I've recompiled it and it works fine for me (including G15 display).

Everyone who has this issue try downloading http://destym.ru/tmp/openpandora/lgLCDNETWrapper.dll and replacing the correspoding DLL in OpenPandora folder. Let me know if that works for you.

This won't fix Play/Pause/etc hotkeys though...

Can OpenPandora remove the advertisement of Pandora?

Anonymous said...

Is OpenPandora dead, been using it for a few years now and no update. Found a new program called Pandora Radio - Desktop App which seems to regular updates. Fills the same but lacks Last.FM support, it a must for me. Any info on version 0.8 would be nice.

Anonymous said...

Like and Hate buttons don't work for me on windows 7 on my g15 keyboard. Any chance of making the window resizable or changing window opacity? Would make this program great.

I don't know if you still work on the app but i love this app and i'm reccomending it to all my friends that use pandora. Its a great app finally something i've been looking for forever. the g15 app is awesome on my g19 but the buttons don't work for like/hate ect on the g19 would be nice to get it working on the g19 but if you don't have time thats ok its just nice being able to see the song and artist. Thanks for a great app :)

Justin said...

OpenPandora app doesn't work at all, tried both 0.7.06 and 0.7.0.5 and both are broken and give IE javascript errors when opening the app. Junk, get pandora's sidebar gadget instead... (Win7 x64)

Not showing on the g15 screen any thing special i have to do for it?

Peter said...

I doubt anyone will ever see this, but if someone does-

I downloaded OpenPandora because I saw it supports the Logitech G15 Keyboard which is awesome and I've been thinking how great it would be to be able to use my keyboard with Pandora. So I got this and the media buttons do work, however I heard that there is supposed to be an actual app for it so you can like and dislike songs? Just wondering how I am supposed to get that app running, thanks!

Is there any plans to patch the client so that it will work with Pandora's HTML5 page now?

How can I stop the advertising?

Snorri said...

It still doesn't work for me, when I start it, it popps up and then disapears

Trapt said...

I can't get it to work, the music starts and stops randomly. I can't get the g15 function to work either.

Davis said...

Thanks Joe! I am on 32bit Windows 7 and it works fine for me!

T-Rav said...

so it wont load at start up. it just sits at the "please wait, pandora is loading..." screen

Will said...

Pandora changed their stuff around, so this isn't working anymore. Until it gets updated. If it gets updated. Which seems unlikely, seeing as the last update was 3 years ago.

H3xx said...

This is my first time using OpenPandora, and all I get is a perpetual "Pleas Wait, Pandora is loading..."

Any idea on how to fix it?

Stinglock said...

Win7x64 here;
Previous version just hangs on the 'please wait' and doesn't progress, installed net framwork 1.1 same problem. Didn't bother trying to recompiled dll in the http://code.google.com/p/openpandora/issues/detail?id=88 issue.

I ended up giving up on this application and found something that worked with the offical application.

If OpenPandora is not working for you try out this version.

Unknown said...

The app runs in the back ground but just sits there saying

" Please Wait, Pandora is Loading....

Do I have to run Pandora in another browser? There really is not anything on the site that says I do so presuming its standalone.

Unknown said...

Win7, use beta 5

After applicatio starts, its just says me:
"We are sorry, but Pandora blocked you from using their service. Only users from inside U.S. are allowed."

I suppose this application is solution to my country problems, isnt it?
